This dark fairy tale was inspired by Karel Jaromír Erben poems. Erben was a Czech folklorist and poet of the mid-19th century, best known for his collection A Bouquet of Folk Legends (Kytice), which contains poems based on traditional and folkloric themes. The Noon Witch (Polednice) is based on the noon demon of Slavic mythology. The Noon Witch takes children who don't behave and she arrives at the stroke of noon.
But in my story, this tale also about hope. The Noon Witch is a creature that comes from Underworld, the world of dreams and fantasies, my own universe that is controlled by my fear. When I realize these fears cannot attack me, I will stop being afraid of them and then these beings from my dreams will rise and I will dance with them.
